"Our family had the pleasure of working with Marianne throughout the pregnancy and delivery of our first child. As a new mom, I was unsure of what to expect each trimester, week, and even day. Marianne’s unparalleled knowledge and experience, combined with her warm, loving demeanor, put all of my worries at ease. From the moment we met her, she made me and my husband feel like part of her family. I was comfortable asking her my many (sometimes very personal!) questions and immediately trusted that she had my and my baby’s best interests at heart. She championed my role in the birth of our child, but it was reassuring to know that Marianne has the vast medical expertise required to intervene when needed. Her care ensured the safest, happiest, healthiest outcome for me and my baby. From our initial consultation to our final newborn visit and beyond, Marianne supported my health, fostered our ideal birth situation, and truly empowered me as a mother."

"I feel so lucky to have found Marianne. We interviewed early on in my pregnancy and decided to meet again after my first ultrasound. In the meantime she recommended a progesterone check, which ended up catching dangerously low levels. After correcting that, I was able to have a healthy and safe pregnancy. Throughout everything, Marianne was patient, understanding and sincere. She made a point to know what I wanted every step of the way. When the time came for birth, she was incredible. And even more incredible was the time spent after for postpartum checks and newborn checks. She was with me from 3 weeks pregnant, until my son was a month old. My heart is full, and I hope that Marianne is able to deliver all my babies."

"Marianne and her team are absolutely amazing! They transformed my birth experience from an uncontrolled hospital experience, being pushed by policies and procedures I didn't want, to a beautiful birth experience where I was in control. Prenatal visits were fun, loving and easy. Every procedure was explained in detail and we discussed how and whether it would benefit me or not. Marianne is like a loving mother who cares about you and your baby. I highly recommend her services!"

"The team at Bridger Birthing is astounding! Professional, educated, skilled . . . but even more amazing are the individuals behind the scenes. Marianne is a wealth of knowledge, skill, experience and understanding. My name is Amy and I have been involved with home birth since I started as an apprentice at the age of 17. I have worked with over seven individual midwives, not including Marianne, and I have attended close to 20 births both in hospital and at home. My own three children have all been born at home.
When I first met Marianne over the phone it was to schedule an interview with her, in the hopes of hiring her for the birth of our third baby, Mallory. We scheduled and then I had to call her and reschedule . . . something that historically has usually embarrassed me. Marianne took it in her stride. Completely organized and willing to work together to make appointments. I realized that I needn’t be embarrassed about communicating!
Then there was the matter of my two bouncy children I had already. I lived ten hours away from family and in an area where it was hard to get baby sitting and child care . . . once again Marianne, Hannah, and Sarah were professional, patient and never once made me feel self conscious about my children being talkative - or shy, bouncy or hiding under chairs. They took time to get to know my children, my husband, and me. During Mallory’s journey into this life, I always felt taken care of and supported by Marianne, Hannah and Sarah.
Mallory’s birth was unusual in that because of our busy schedule, busy children, and the possibility of moving at one point, we didn’t get a midwife until I was 25 weeks pregnant . . . and then we switched midwives a few weeks later to hire Marianne! So we really weren’t entirely sure what my due date was. Marianne didn’t let that deter her. She took care to measure, chart, and document everything. We made plans for a home birth and also wrote a plan into our home birth plans for the event we might need to transfer to the hospital.
As the weeks progressed I grew impatient; I was in and out of labor, and so curious at who this little one would be. Marianne helped me to be calm, to be more patient, to check in with my body and monitor all the little developments that add up to the birth of a baby. I remember one day expressing to her that I just couldn’t wait to hold my baby! And Marianne responded joyfully that I was already holding her! And it’s true!
On the big day of Mallory’s birth, Marianne followed my birth plan to the letter. I am a shy individual and I mostly like doing things myself. What Marianne did was a tricky balance, to be just present enough to ensure the safety of me and my baby, while preserving my privacy and quiet nature. Mallory’s labor was fast and nearly textbook, something Marianne showed me later as she had kept a log of my contractions up until I began pushing and needed her help.
Pushing was more intense with Mallory than my other two previous babies. She needed to come quickly and I needed to yell . . . a lot. Marianne wasn’t flustered, she kept track of the baby's heartbeat, heated up the water, and was completely present and tuned into me and the baby. This is something you would assume any midwife would do, and yet I have witnessed enough births to know that plenty of midwives, OB’s, nurses and apprentices can be very disruptive and unfocused during births. The care that preceded Mallory’s birth was incredible as well. One thing that I have lamented about my two previous births was being cold and the baby not having enough dry blankets and towels . . . not so with Mallory’s birth under Marianne, Hannah, and Sarah’s care. I had plenty of dry towels, blankets, and plenty of help with the baby, our other two kids - and my husband!
I really just can’t say enough in praise of Marianne and Hannah and everyone at Bridger Birthing! Their organization, education, skill, kindness and very obvious love of babies, birth, and life are the best I’ve seen out of quite a bit of experience in the birthing world!"

"Marianne was everything we hoped for and more in a midwife. This was our first baby and as you can imagine, we had tons of questions and concerns. Marianne answered all of them (and there were a ton) with patience and knowledge. One of our biggest wants in a midwife was someone who was caring and fun to be around but also no nonsense when it came to important stuff. Marianne was just that. We laughed and got educated and also had complete trust in her. She was also very supportive in my wants throughout the pregnancy and birth and gave us tons of additional information that helped with the whole process. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a midwife that is warm and compassionate and also honest and straightforward. We never once were concerned for my or baby's health and we had full confidence that she would keep us safe and let us have the birth that we wanted. We had such a lovely time working with her and look forward to working with her on the future. Thanks Marianne for helping make our first birth everything we wanted it to be!"

"Marianne provided wonderful guidance through our pregnancy, labor, birth and post-partum journey. My husband & I had such a wonderful experience bringing our son William into the world under her care. Because of Marianne, we were able to give William the peaceful, natural, intimate home birth that we will treasure for the rest of our lives. She had the perfect balance of respecting our desire to try laboring on our own, and stepping in with confidence, wisdom & skill when needed. She went above and beyond in helping us settle into being new parents. Her lactation consulting and support played a vital role in helping me to be able to exclusively breastfeed William, even through challenges like his tongue and lip tie. I would 100% recommend her!"

“We were very fortunate to have the opportunity to follow the guidance of our midwife, Marianne. Marianne accepted our family as a very late transfer and we were still able to achieve a relationship I have not experienced with my previous midwives. She provided us with an incredibly detailed prenatal experience that improved my wellbeing at the end of this pregnancy and prepared my body to give birth the way it was meant to. Marianne impressed us with her vast knowledge of human anatomy and physiology as well as birth practices from around the World. As an expecting parent, know that Marianne sets a high standard in providing excellent pre and postnatal care for you and your sweet baby. Thank you, Marianne, for giving us the greatest gifts we could have asked for from a midwife; trust in our care provider, confidence in my pregnancy, and an unforgettable birth experience."

"After considering a few different options for our birth, my husband and I are incredibly happy to have chosen Marianne to be our midwife. We can't imagine ever having it any other way! We truly believe that we received the very best prenatal, birth, and postpartum care available in the area. Marianne is so warm, loving, and knowledgeable. We felt so comfortable with her. We are grateful for her wisdom and the generous amount of time she spent with us. She was always available right when we needed her and she provided much needed help and support both during the birth of our daughter as well as for breastfeeding during the challenging early days. Marianne greatly contributed to us being able to have an incredible and beautiful home birth. If we were to have another baby someday, we would without a doubt choose Marianne to be our midwife again - she is awesome! We cannot emphasize enough just how much we recommend Bridger Birthing for those looking for a natural birth option. "

"Having our second baby at home was one of the best decisions we have ever made. From the long, intimate prenatal visits to the much-needed postpartum care (not to mention the birth itself!) I can’t imagine doing it any other way again. Marianne’s warm presence and gentle touch, paired with her knowledge and experience make her services one-of-a-kind. For me, giving birth is a profound, life-changing experience, and I was able to follow my body’s lead and let things unfold during the labor and delivery, with Marianne as my guardian. Her guidance and encouragement throughout the process made it possible for our baby to be safely born right in the comfort of our own home! In addition to delivering our baby, Marianne provided the lactation support that I needed in the days and weeks following Ruth’s birth. Marianne is not only our midwife, but a friend and mentor, and I hold her very dear to my heart. It goes without saying that we will be using Marianne again!"

"I can not say enough good things about Marianne. My experience with her as my midwife was incredible. I knew immediately after first meeting Marianne that she was the right one to help me bring my baby girl into this world. She provided great care throughout my pregnancy, during labor and delivery, and postpartum. After having my first baby in the hospital and my second at home with Marianne, I would undoubtedly use Marianne again and have a home birth if I was to have a third baby. She is compassionate, knowledgeable, personable, confident, experienced, and prepared. Comparing my hospital birth to my at home birth was like night and day. I felt so much more comfortable at home and in her care. I didn’t feel pushed to do anything that wasn't right for me and I knew that she would help me make the right choices for me and my baby. She helped me deliver a healthy and beautiful baby girl at home in a birthing tub. Having all the focus on me and my baby and the support that my body was made to birth a baby naturally made all the difference in the world. She is great in trusting the natural process of pregnancy and birth. Not only was my recovery quicker the second time around but me and my baby received personalized in home care afterwards that I didn’t get the first time with my son. It was an empowering experience that I know as women we are more than capable of doing with the right support system. I would recommend Marianne to anyone looking for a great midwife that you can put all your trust into and receive excellent care."

"Being a first time mom, I had a lot of questions about the home birthing experience. After a lot of research and several prenatals with the hospital, I'm so happy I made the switch and chose Marianne as my midwife. She was always so helpful in answering my many questions and made me feel very comfortable and confident with the whole experience. Marianne's appointments were supportive, educational, and very warm. I never felt rushed and trusted her expertise and confidence in natural birth fully. The delivery went wonderfully, and Marianne was so supportive and professional throughout that as well. I would highly recommend her if you choose to go the home birthing route. She's wonderful!!"

“Choosing a care provider for a new baby can feel like its own labor and delivery. It’s crucial to have someone who is both an expert and knows their limits, who can balance what they believe is best medically with what the family values. Marianne did this masterfully throughout. She is incredibly respectful, warm, caring, and most importantly, she knows what she is doing. We would travel across the country just to have her there for our next one!"

"Marianne,
Meeting you, looking back, I feel the universe and see its movement to intertwine our paths. Late one evening as I read Ina May's Guide to Childbirth, overcome with emotion from the stories within of such beautiful birthing experiences, the urge to birth our baby at home drove me to your website. The moment my eyes laid upon your barefoot mountain logo I knew you were the one. I barely finished reading your description before announcing to my partner who would be birthing our child, somehow the perfect woman hidden here in Bozeman. Your support through labor, the gentle yet confident assurance that WE would greet this baby in our home, your constant warmth around me as I struggled through the pain.. Words cannot describe his birth, the ABSOLUTE amazement of the experience you guided me through, the wonderment at feeling my son’s hair on my thigh, his legs kicking, “Did you move him!?” as he was partially emerged from me, so alive and healthy! You are an incredible woman. THE incredible woman every soon-to-be mother should have by their side as they walk this path to motherhood. Thank you with all of my heart, my partner's heart, my baby's heart. You have them all."
